It’s a public holiday here in Victoria- Grand Final Eve- and came about thanks to a Labor politician complaining that he wasn’t able to attend the AFL grand final parade the day before the big game due to school being held so he implemented this holiday for us to make up for it. We used to have a show day public holiday on a Thursday due to the Melbourne show being on but like all things political, it was cancelled years ago. Now we have a holiday for the AFL grand final instead. Work that out, especially if you’re not into the AFL. Anyhow, it’s been a mixed bag weather wise in my part of Victoria- cold enough for a heater in the morning yet sunny/overcast now in the afternoon. The weather is meant to be 19 tomorrow and overcast for the big match but no rain so hopefully a great game for a hopefully Brisbane Lions win!
I’ve spent the morning chilling by working on an knitted adults jumper for charity/ myself (undecided on if I’ll keep it for myself yet) and listening to Kaylee Bell’s new album that was released today. I’ve also gone through my show bags that I got yesterday as I went to the Melbourne Show with my housemate/best friend. I did sustain a calf injury yesterday so I’ve been resting it and taking it easy. I got a Brisbane Lions showbag so now I’ve got a new baseball cap and coffee mug to use for the game tomorrow afternoon as I’m a very proud Brisbane Lions fan - I was a Fitzroy Lions fan when I was a child so I’ve kept following them ever since.
Tonight is watching the Melbourne Storm on TV in week 3 of the NRL finals with a hopefully Storm win- my team. It’ll be a nervous few hours tonight ahead. I’m just hoping the Brisbane Broncos can defeat Penrith Panthers on Sunday afternoon as I’ll be watching that match as well. I’ll also watch a Chris Fagan interview on Unfiltered on 7plus tonight which I missed seeing after the NRL match in preparation for the big game tomorrow.
