Thanks @Ru-bee

I’ll have a think and maybe have a hard discussion with him..

Re: Don’t know where else to go..

hey @SleeplessRaven i wanted to pop in and see how you're travelling 😊

Re: Don’t know where else to go..

Hi @rav3n thanks for checking in, I appreciate it. I actually just put a post in the hearing voices thread you recommended - I hope it was sort of what the thread was intended for.

I saw my old psychiatrist and she’s increased the meds I’m on - I feel like they’re helping a bit but also I’m not sure what they’re actually supposed to be doing because I’m still hearing voices that are feeding me delusional ideas which logically I understand they’re delusions to the outside world but I believe them without hesitancy and I know they’re real. The duality of it is confusing and exhausting but when I tell anyone they assume I just mean an overwhelming anxiety loop and tell me to do breathing exercises and meditate etc.

Re: Don’t know where else to go..

appreciate you taking that leap and sharing on that thread. looks like there's a few others who have connected with you there too! @SleeplessRaven

i can see why you'd feel concerned. i think some have mentioned on the other thread how medications can be helpful at perhaps quietening the voices, but often time, therapeutic work may also need to be done along side it. breathing and grounding tools can be great for immediate/short term relief, but it doesn't necessarily address the thoughts or delusions.

i think you mentioned not trusting the current one, so i'm wondering if looking into a new psych (who specialises in hearing voices) would be possible? i reckon working through those thoughts would be helpful - and hopefully a new psych would be more validating too.
