New beginning day 1

Hey everyone so today went well. I feel more free and confident. Kicking the toxic people out my life worked well for me.

Nice @Matty19901 ! I'm interested to hear more! I love the change of mindset. It must be lighting up parts of your brain 🙂

Re: New beginning day 1

Yea well i pretty much say or do the first thing that pops in my head now, i no longer overthink anything. And when it comes to toxic people or fake friends i just ignore them or dont talk to them

2 of them work in same company as me 1 in same department 1 in another. The one in same department i just ignore. Eventually should he ask whats up ill tell him first thing that pops into my head but till then im living my best life and im loving it

Im even starting to think of looking up new things to try that i would never normally do.

Or another way can be that when the thoughts come, acknowledge them, but also 'watch' the thought float down the stream @Matty19901 . That way, it is not about pushing the thought away. In the past, I found that the more I pushed a thought away and told myself not to think about it, the more I thought about it... hence I've moved to just observing the thoughts but not engaging with them.

Sorry if I'm not making sense.

So pleased to hear you are trying new things 🙂

Re: New beginning day 1

That is a good idea im open to trying that should any thoughts i dont like pop up

Otherwise so far so good

This is an ACT metaphor that I find helpful.

The Sushi Train metaphor offers a great tool for unhooking from difficult or unhelpful thoughts Russ Harris, a leading author, trainer and pioneer of ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), explains the Sushi Train metaphor through this entertaining and educational clip. To learn more about Russ's
